Summary
Due to dramatic improvements in visualization software, displays are becoming more creative and more complicated. An Industry leader in Visual display systems approached CADmech for assistance with developing a more controllable and easier method of setting up curved display walls. These systems typically involve many screens coupled together to provide a much larger viewing screen. In many cases they are also curved faces which further increases the complexities related to set-up.
Our Contribution
With this the CADmech team created a simplified base element and a subsequent “tool” which controlled the curvature of the wall. One of the main constraints was ensuring the utilization of a large stock of existing parts. Tolerance analysis and motion studies were completed through the detailed design phase and the project concluded with the successful build of several prototypes.
