Summary
While working with a world leading visual display company, CADmech had the opportunity to support the development of a revolutionary new solution for the simulation industry. It provides the unique capability of achieving so called “eye limiting” resolutions while simulating night vision goggles.
Our Contribution
We faced many integration challenges in designing the main body and lens mounts; flexibility for multiple projection applications was required, which demanded flexibility in the packaging of the electronics system. The main body was developed from concepts through to detailed design. CADmech supported the build of several iterations of functional prototypes using machined aluminum. We worked concurrently with the client engineering team to ensure that the design met all test requirements (vibration table, drop test, EMI sealing ect.). The final design was approved and CADmech followed up by designing the product’s shipping packaging. This product went on to win several industry awards.
