Summary
Our client, a leading transportation OEM, wanted to develop a new line of bus that delivered life cycle savings and improved the experience for passengers and drivers. Better fuel economy, lighter weight, disc brakes and the industry’s first LED headlights make this a better bus by far. So much emphasis was put into the design of this vehicle that the tag line is even “better by design”.
The Specifics
CADmech was fortunate to have the opportunity to support the New Product Development group with getting this vehicle designed and built. Our team participated in a wide range of design and detailing activity covering all aspects of the vehicle. We went on to assist with developing the 35’ and 60’ version of this next generation vehicle.
Launched in San Diego at APTA (American Public Transportation Association) in 2008, customer response and the results of Altoona testing speak volumes for the quality and standards this bus is designed and built too.
