Summary
The AB SCIEX TripleTOF® 5600 System is an innovative breakthrough in Mass Spectrometer performance. Following an extensive R&D effort at AB Sciex, CADmech was tasked with repackaging all of the product’s sub-systems within a defined envelope.
Our Contribution
The end result was a sheet metal welded frame that met the requirements of service-ability and ease of assembly. The second phase of the project was focused on the shell and user interface for the instrument. Working from existing AB Sciex product language, CADmech created several industrial design concepts for the enclosure. The shell included a series of sheet access panels topped off with an attractive user-friendly structural foam front panel. Some of the key challenges included; EMI shielding, mechanical latching and hinging systems, light pipe design, styling integration and molding.
