Summary
Our client, a well-known automotive company developing electric vehicles and powertrain systems approached CADmech to design an industry first air conditioning system for a low-speed electric vehicle; the CADmech team built the system from the ground up.
Our Contribution
We designed and prototyped the complete air conditioning unit including evaporator and condenser coils, piping, fans and sized an appropriate DC compressor for the system. As part of the project CADmech also developed a full test bench to prove out the design and ensure minimum performance requirements were met. CADmech sourced the complete system with local vendors that supported production for this product for several years to come.
