Summary
The manufacture of high-quality optical lenses requires extremely accurate dimensional control. Key to achieving this is the design of the tooling and fixtures used throughout their production. CADmech has decades of experience in the development of highly accurate mechanisms.
Rigorous application of GD&T principles was key to the achieving the required accuracy for this and other similar tooling designed for aerospace applications. The jig has flexibility for use with multiple lens sizes while providing precision positioning with 5 axis fine tuning capabilities.
