Summary

Created in partnership with MentallyVR, this experience presents a new way of undergoing therapy. The solution is targeted towards those who feel often anxious and feel stigma/nervousness about seeking the help of a therapist. The experience offers a relaxing immersive environment where individuals can reflect and choose to speak with a therapist if they choose to. The aim is to create a space where one can heal at their own pace without putting any pressure on themselves.

Inclusive, easy, and at your own pace

In this therapeutic environment, a user can sit alone, or with a registered therapist, if they please. The space is a 360° video recording of a calm lakeside, where the user can peacefully take in the sights and sounds of nature. The user can choose to have calming music played over the experience as well, or have inspirational messages played. If they feel ready, the user can speak with a therapist in this environment. If chosen, a box will open inside of the natural environment which displays a webcam feed of a therapist speaking with the user. The therapist is unable to see the user, only hear them in conversation, thus reducing anxious thoughts and stigma for many individuals. While in the session, the user is still able to look around the environment as they please while they continue their conversation.
