Summary
A tier 1 automotive supplier requested from us an AR solution that allowed them to market and present different car trim designs easily without the need to haul numerous samples around. Thus, this experience looks to present car trim in a novel, and more economical way. It does so by requiring a singular piece of trim on which it superimposes different styles on top of, increasing convenience and saving money on prototyping and shipping large numbers of trim pieces.
A new way to visualize
This AR application allows for pieces of car trim to be seen in different design options – all using a smartphone. Thus, instead of needing to have multiple trim options in shop to show to customers, having blank trim set up with an anchor point is all you need to show them every design possibility.
We take the trim pieces in question and superimpose the trim option on-top of the anchor. With real time lighting adjustment, the customer is able to visualize better what trim options will really look like on the pieces in question.
Instead of relying on shapeless samples or paying to create countless trim pieces in different designs, why not simply have one in shop to augment into any design imaginable?
