Summary

Created for a major transportation OEM, this AR experience allows for a swifter design review and marketing process. The aim of the project is to present coach bus seats visually, without having to transport real prototypes. With an AR application, we can see what the seats would look like in real space from any angle and see different visual options available.

A full product demonstration, in an augmented environment

In this experience, marketing to clients and even reviewing a design in real space is made easy. Begin with scanning the ground so the application can understand where and how to anchor the virtual object. With the bus seats anchored, the user can walk around the product while it remains stationary, allowing a view at every angle. The object can also be rotated and moved on its own in space.

At this point, the user can configure the bus seats to view different trim options including fabric design, headrest material and leather color.

The application also comes with real-time light adjustment, to allow the user the ability to see the design in different light.

Instead of having to create and ship multiple versions of the same bus seats, prospective buyers can easily be shown different designs, and designers can also review all their design options in one space.
