CADmech is going to the VR/AR Global Summit in Vancouver!

The Global VR/AR Summit, annually hosted by The VR/AR Association, is one of the biggest annual events in the XR field. Whether a curious individual, industry leader or start-up, everyone is welcome to view exhibitions and talks, join in on workshops and engage in the marketplace of ideas this summit brings. This is an opportunity for anyone to immerse themselves in a new form of technology, gain knowledge on it, share ideas, network and open opportunities for collaboration, all in the name of XR.

CADmech isn’t simply planning to be present at the summit, but we are exhibiting and are bringing a few special things with us to show everyone, including a giveaway!

Our CADmech VR demo

When you come to the CADmech booth, one thing you can demo is a VR training solution we created, presented on the Oculus Quest. It’s always important to stay safe, whether at home or minimizing liability in the workplace. Sometimes, though, there are small things in an environment that can cause more harm than one would expect. Do you think you can point out hazards in an environment to keep yourself and those around you safe? Come and immerse yourself in two hazard areas – the road side or at a workplace. In these experiences, you are sitting down in the environments looking around the room and must identify dangerous, or potentially dangerous, hazards for yourself and those around you. Although it may seem simple, you may be quick to learn that there could be more nuance to some areas thank you would think, such as in a specific workplace or on the roadside. The solution has analytics and tracking, so after the solution is over, your results can be seen. This includes how many hazards you managed to pick out, how long it took, how much time you spent looking in certain areas, etc. This is a proof of concept technology that shows how VR can help train people for different things, all from different professional positions to even parenthood. The inclusion of analytics in this solution allow the user, or any potential employers, understand how adept the trainee is at what they will be doing, increasing overall safety and reducing liability where possible. Furthermore, it helps a user or potential employer further understand behavioural patterns and thought process of an individual, which gives information on where the individual’s faults lie and what they must change to succeed in their role.

Our CADmech AR demo

Whether you are at the summit with us, or unable to join, our AR demo is going to be available for you to try using Instagram! Simply follow us on Instagram, and you will have access to our AR Instagram filter. As soon as you follow us, our Instagram filter will be available to use! Enter the experience and you’ll see a small CADmech robot! Although a bit more lighthearted of a demo, it shows off the technology and how we can work with it. Adding analytics like timing, as well as interactivity to this fun little demo shows off the versatility and different characteristics of solutions technology. More importantly though, this demo demonstrates anchoring technology – having the robot and its broken pieces stay in one spot while the user interacts with the objects and moves the device around. This is a technical feat extremely applicable and important for AR solutions in any industry. For both visualization/validation as well as marketing/sales purposes, being able to adapt anchoring and analytic technology to different situations is crucial. This same technology can be seen in our other solutions shared over our social media and can be seen at the summit, as well!
Take one of our previous AR solutions for example, which shows a pump come into existence infront of the user’s eyes and walks them through the assembly process, shows schematics, details and sizes of certain parts, and real-time data of things such as pump pressure and RPM!

A prize giveaway!

If you are present, and at the CADmech XR booth, for the summit, you can take part in our giveaway! We are giving one person a 3D printed version of the robot in our AR filter! Simply come to our booth, enjoy our demos and sign up for the giveaway! For sign up you will need at least your email address, but you can score more entries and increase your chances to win with Facebook and Instagram accounts! We are running in on Friday November 1st only, so come visit us at our booth from 12pm until close to enter!

CADmech is extremely excited to be a part of the 2019 Global VR/AR Summit. We can’t wait to see what other companies are doing for not only the solutions space, but VR and AR in general. Perhaps new technologies or methods will be announced that will help the work all of us do! We don’t have to wait long to find out, the summit starts at the end of this week!

If you haven’t already, get your tickets here and come visit us on the exhibition floor!
